Outside work
Away from work, I am almost as busy as I am at it! As you might gather I love travelling- mostly in Israel, North America, Japan and Europe. I nearly always take a camera, as you never know you might see something useful for a lecture. My wife, Margot, and I like walking, and we are also keen on going to concerts (mostly classical). A few years ago my brother, Greg, and I started looking at our family tree, and I still dabble with that. And I spend quite a lot of time running our domain www.hodsons.org
I am a committed Christian and attend St Mary's, Haddenham, where my wife became vicar in February 2009.
I am also very involved in Sage, Oxford's Christian environmental group, and was one of the first members in 1990. I am Operations Manager of The John Ray Initiative and am co-director and Principal Tutor of the Certificate in Christian Rural and Environmental Studies ( CRES).
