2) The most detailed site so far available is the University of Missouri Phytolith Database

B) Research sites of phytolith workers
1) Mikhail Blinnikov's Phytolith Gallery has a good selection of light and scanning electron micrographs.
2) phytolith.net - the site from Marco Madella.

C) Published Articles on the Web.
1) You will need Acrobat Reader loaded to see the paper by P.V. Monje and E.J. Baran on alpha quartz in the Cactaceae.

D) Conferences.
Marco Madella organised the 4th International Meeting on Phytolith Research  in Cambridge, UK, 2002.
