Martin and Margot Hodson live in Oxford, UK. The Hodsons are both members of Sage, Oxford's Christian Environmental Group, and would particularly like to thank Sage for all their support during the production of this book. We dedicated our book to the memory of Dave Steel, one of the founders of Sage, who sadly died in November 2006.
When not involved at Jesus College Chapel they attend St. Clement's in Oxford. The Hodsons are keen country walkers. For more details of Martin and Margot's various activities see their web site hodsons.org

Dr Martin J Hodson is now Visiting Researcher in Environmental Biology, Oxford Brookes University, UK, having been on the staff since 1989. His research interests include plant mineral relations (particularly focussing on silicon and aluminium), archaeology and palaeoecology. He has over 70 publications, mostly in international scientific journals. Martin has been involved in issues of faith and environment since 1990, and is Co-director and Principal Tutor for Christian Rural and Environmental Studies (CRES). This is a distance-learning course that is jointly run by the John Ray Initiative (JRI) and Christian Rural Concern, and is validated by Ripon College, Cuddesdon nr. Oxford, UK. Martin currently runs the web site for Sage.
Revd Margot R Hodson is Chaplain of Jesus College, Oxford, UK. Her active involvement in nature conservation let her towards her first degree in geography. On graduating, she taught geography in comprehensive schools, before leaving to read theology, where she specialised in the Jewish biblical studies and environmental theology. After several years in lay ministry, Margot was ordained as a minister in the Church of England in 2001. She has a lifelong interest in the environment and is a Director of the John Ray Initiative (JRI), an educational charity with a vision to bring together scientific and Christian understanding of the environment in a way that can be widely communicated and lead to effective action. Margot is the JRI representative on the board of A Rocha UK. She teaches environmental ethics at Oxford Brookes University. Margot has published several books including A Feast of Seasons, a book about Biblical festivals, and `The Place of Environmental Theology, a guide for seminaries, colleges and universities' (an edited volume with John Weaver).
